Lord of the Mosquitoes
Hey I'm back!I survived the forests, swamps, streams and breast-high bushes. Not to mention the hordes of mean, blood-hungry mosquitoes with black & white striped legs (yep, AEDES mosquitoes)!!Alhamdulillah we didn't get dengue from that trip. Thanks to my trusty, extra strong insect repellant! Of course, being guys, none of my teammates bothered to bring any, so I guess you could say that I saved the day! The brand new bottle was almost finished by the time we wrapped up work. Hahahaha... Not to mention sun block, plasters, cough drops.. etc etc...*Leez patting herself on the back for bringing all those extra luggages that you guys made fun of!!*But all in all, it was fun. Extremely tiring, but quite satisfying. Of course, you couldn't tell by the way I was complaining and cursing during those long and hot hours (hey, if you had to walk miles in those hard, heavy safety boots, all the while manually carrying heavy equipments, you'd be too!)!But boy, am I glad to be back. Woodchuck said I've tanned quite a bit, but he really was just being nice. Truthfully? I'm blackened. On the other hand, I felt like I've lost pounds & inches because my work jeans were loosening! Was very excited to get onto the scale once I was back - but lo & behold, I've actually gained some weight!Wondered (and still wondering) what happened. That can't be right, can it?Maybe I just felt slimmer while in the East Coast. Weird, huh?

Stick to the Plan, Would Ya?
I was gonna write an elaborate post, but my PC is acting up on me again. Stupid PC. You'd think, since it's brand new and all, it wouldn't be giving me crap, eh? Well, think again.
Had a nice break. Did pretty much everything I wanted to during the 10-day break, except hang out with my friends. Geez, these gals are so busy, I wonder if we were ever gonna get our Girls Day Out! *Ladies, you know who you are! Hehehe*
Was supposed to go for a 4-day-outstation work starting today. Of course, I waited until yesterday morning to pack. Now, I'm a very slow packer because I'm fussy and meticulous. Not surprisingly, it was already in the afternoon (after almost 4 hours), and I was almost done packing, when I got an SMS from my colleague saying, "Leez, change of plans. We will need you until the 20th instead of the 8th"
The 20th??! That's 2 WEEKS!!
OMG OMG OMG.. I wasn't prepared for this! You said 4 days, not two weeks! And you sprang this unto me at the last minute! Now I need to re-pack! And I might not even have enough of the items necessary for the trip!
Panicked for a few minutes. Hurried to the nearest mall (that's Alamanda for me), and had the fastest shopping experience ever. Came home. Started packing again. Had dinner, showered, threw in some quality time with Woodster (mind you, we haven't spent much time apart in our 6 yrs of marriage, so this really was an annoying change of plans). Then, resumed packing.
Didn't finish till around 2:30 in the morning.
Great.
Now I'm gonna fall asleep during the trip and embarrass myself with my drooling and snoring. Just fantastic.
So, I guess I'll see ya in 2 weeks.
