Why?

Why is it that the people closest to you, the ones in your 'inner circle', end up being the ones that can hurt you the most?

You could be screamed at, yelled at, kicked at and punched at by other people outside that circle and yet, you could get up unscathed and unhurt. At most, you might feel a bit embarrassed, if not at all.

But if you were to reverse the situation, why doesn't the same hold true?

If someone dear to you, someone whom you love and really cherish does the same, you suddenly find yourself helpless against it - all your well-developed defense mechanisms go haywire, your reactions become impulsive and brash.

Why? Why does it hurt so much more when it's one of them? Every single evil act done unto you impacts you ten-fold.

And every single evil act you do unto them imparts them just as much pain.

Love hurts.
